MD Tech Intraocular Lens Material

The material used for MD Tech intraocular lenses is supplied by Benz Research & Development, a company regarded as a benchmark of quality by all stakeholders, including competitors. Benz materials are characterized by exceptional precision and isotropic expansion.

The high purity of the acrylates used as the primary monomer component of the intraocular lens material is achieved through a process known as Zero Technology. Zero Technology ensures 99.9% purity, delivering the quality required for a polymer implant that can remain in the eye for more than 40 years.

Spherical Aberration

The lens geometry induces a specific negative spherical aberration value of –0.26 μm, which precisely compensates for corneal spherical aberration, bringing the patient’s eye closer to the state of a young, emmetropic eye.

Glare Stop Barrier / Glistening-Free

MD Tech intraocular lenses feature a specially designed lens edge called the “Glare Stop Barrier”, which eliminates unwanted light reflections and glare, thereby improving overall visual quality.

Natural Yellow

I-STREAM intraocular lenses incorporate an innovative filter known as “Natural Yellow.”
These lenses contain a light yellow pigment that is less “intense” compared to traditional yellow filters. This advanced filter ensures effective protection against harmful blue light without altering color perception or contrast sensitivity.

Carlevale Hybrid Intraocular Lenses

The Carlevale lens is manufactured from a hybrid copolymer with a UV filter and Blue Light Natural Yellow™ technology. It is designed for implantation into the posterior chamber with scleral fixation.

Key characteristics:

  • Available in a standard diopter (D) range from –5.0 to +40.0
  • Indicated for the correction of aphakic eyes with insufficient capsular support suitable for patients with Marfan syndrome
  • An implantation kit with dedicated instruments is also available
