Reusable Instruments

The company DORC is a renowned manufacturer specializing in posterior segment eye surgery instruments. Thanks to long-standing technical expertise and collaboration with world-leading surgeons such as Prof. Claus Eckardt, Prof. Peter Stalmans, Dr. Fabio Patelli, Prof. Tano, Dr. Fanis Pavlidis, and Prof. Mario R. Romano, DORC instruments are recognized for their high quality and reliability.

Reusable instruments are made from stainless steel and titanium alloys, offering several construction advantages:

  • Lightweight, corrosion-resistant materials extend the lifespan of the instrument
  • Round handle design enables 360° rotation and ergonomic control
  • Special knurled grip surface ensures secure handling
  • Linear closing mechanism synchronizes control for safe and smooth branch closure
  • Colour-coded instruments allow quick identification and orientation
  • Stationary distal tips reduce unintended contact and traction on the retina or preretinal membrane
  • A wide range of reusable instruments is available in 27 G, 25 G, 23 G, and 20 G sizes

Other reusable instruments include:

  • Subretinal instruments
  • Backflush instruments
  • Special membrane instruments
  • Reusable vitrectomy lenses

Disposable Instruments

Disposable DORC instruments are functionally and ergonomically comparable to reusable versions. They are designed for comfortable handling and precise performance, featuring a stable distal tip and synchronized mechanisms for safe, smooth manipulation.

Available disposable instruments (sizes 20 G, 23 G, 25 G, 27 G) include:

  • Forceps and scissors
  • Backflush instruments
  • Cataract knives
  • Transconjunctival vitrectomy sets

Membrane Blue Dual, Silicone Oil & Tamponade Gases

Membran Blue Dual – dye for visualising internal limiting membrane (ILM), epiretinal membrane (ERM) and proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) membranes; formulated with a 4 % PEG solution for high cohesiveness and targeted staining without diffusion into surrounding tissues. Independent testing confirms excellent stability and performance superior to many competing products.

Silicone Oil – used as a tamponade agent to support retinal reattachment following vitrectomy. MEDILAS
OcuGas SF6 – 100 % SF6 gas for vitreoretinal tamponade, pre-prepared in a sterile syringe for convenient mixing and use.

Scleral Buckling

Scleral buckling procedures are used to treat retinal tears or detachments by indenting the sclera and choroid to bring the retina closer to the retinal pigment epithelium.

Scleral implants are provided sterile in packs of five, with easy-peel sterile packaging. These implants can be used alone or in combination with other surgical components.
